Digital Forensics
Computer forensics is the science of preserving, processing, identifying, discovering, and retrieving digital evidence from electronic devices such as computers, cellphones, and servers. The forensic methodologies used ensure any evidence discovered will be admissible in a court of law. Beginning with a comprehensive chain of custody, we preserve the digital information and conduct a forensically sound investigation for presentation in court. Cases we have worked on include computer-assisted theft, embezzlement, computer fraud, theft of trade secrets, misappropriation of funds, data theft, data deletion, computer hacking, computer data manipulation, and divorce.

What We Do
Starting in 2005, Northwest Data Recovery has offered both laboratory and on-site services to secure computer evidence. In 2021, we acquired G2 Research to expand our forensic discovery services.
We can retrieve and document evidence from a wide range of computer-related issues — including financial fraud, computer misuse in the office, and internet abuse. The critical data can be anything from a single file on a floppy disk to gigabytes of data on a RAID array. Northwest Data Recovery maintains a strict chain of custody control system and takes security seriously.

All staff with access to case evidence are EnCE®, CCE®, and OFE certified. We have a fully-equipped data recovery laboratory, forensic processing laboratory, secure storage areas, and a class 100 cleanroom — all the tools needed to conduct forensically sound digital investigations. We can authenticate documents, recover deleted files, enhance audio/video files, search e-mail correspondence, and more. If you need to know exactly what happened on a computer and when, we can help.
